Learn to Write for Beginners
- Think about what you want to write. Biodiversity in creative writing is divided into several subcategories (fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction) and there is even a special genre (science fiction, mystery, experimental … and much more). Find out what you want to write. Write down what you want to read. Your best writing will come from something that makes you, and may even make you excited. If your spirit can be properly poured in writing, your readers will be attracted to it. The passion for your writing project is a great driving factor and a good start.
- Remember that you do not have to limit yourself to one particular area. Many experienced writers explore many areas – perhaps they write creative essays while publishing their non-fiction creative work. They may also include poetry in their short novels.
2. Create a schedule. Set specific time, location, and atmosphere for your writing sessions. When you set this schedule, the creative part of your brain will get used to working in this condition. Things to note are …
- Sounds: some writers love silence. Some people like to listen to music to spur their creativity. Some others need friends to come up with ideas.
- When: some writers write down their ideas before going to sleep, and some write them in the morning, because not many people are waking up to harass them. Some authors may require distraction, and therefore write during lunch or at work. Some other authors like long periods of uninterrupted writing, and dedicate their weekends to writing.
- Location: specifying a particular building, room, or chair can help the writing process. This habit will train your brain to work more creatively, or technically, to achieve your goals.
3.Read and learn. Read some things you love and learn about them – find out what makes them effective. Try studying the structure of your favorite poetry, or the evolution of characters in your favorite novels. Find a sentence that you think is very good, and ponder – why the author chose that sentence or word?
- Do not limit yourself to a particular genre or area. To really enrich your writing experience, you have to explore the various fields. You may not like the fantasy genre, but others read and write fantasy for some reason. Read through this motto: “I read to write, I read to study, I read to get inspiration.”
4. Be a “nomad”. Pay attention to the things around you. Seek the mystery and solve the mystery. If you have any questions, look for answers in high spirits. Record a unique and unusual thing. When writing, paying attention to these things will give you an idea for your writing. In addition, it can also make your writing more interesting, richer, and more realistic. Here are some pointers to help you explore the world around you:
- Nothing is too ordinary or boring. There is something unique and special about everyone and everything in this world.
- There is a mystery before your eyes: a TV that can not fire, a bird that does not want to fly. Find out how things around you work and do not work, and also the cause.
- Note the details. The leaves are not only green; The leaves also have long, thin leaf bones, strong stems, and shaped like spades.
5. Make notes Write down the things that you realize or that inspire you. Take this note wherever you go. Some famous authors even sew additional bags in their jackets to carry more paper. Use this note to generate ideas, note things you see, read or hear, and pour material for your writing. When you run out of ideas for your project, you can read this note again for inspiration. Remember that you can write everything in your notebook, because everything can be a source of inspiration. Some useful things are:
- Dream: the main source of strange and unusual things. Write it before you forget it!
- Picture: photo or graffiti
- Quote: things people say, sentences that surprise you, short poems, and others.
