Born into Brothels: Calcutta’s Red Light Kids (2004)

Briski, a female photographer, went to Calcutta (India) to photograph the lives of prostitutes there. In Calcutta he befriended and built close relations with the prostitutes’ children. In the end, Briski took the initiative to give a camera to the children in the hope that they would learn photography and improve their lives. This film records the lives of these children and their process of learning to take pictures and show the results of their photographs.
