Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is a kind of radio technology being developed in South Korea. This technology is a national IT project that serves to deliver multimedia content such as TV, radio and datacasting to mobile devices such as mobile phones. This technology is often referred to as mobile tv because this technology supports tv broadcast service on mobile phones. DMB was developed in South Korea as a digital technology to replace FM radio. DMB can use satellite (SDMB) and via terrestrial transmitter (TDMB).

  • Development 

This digital technology is capable of providing image quality that is equivalent to a digital television broadcast system and sound. This technology is increasing.

  • T-DMB (Terrestrial DMB)

  • History of Use 

DMB in the first mobile phone is implemented in South Korea. This effort has been pioneered since September 2001 by SK Telecom, one of the number one cellular companies in Korea. Previously, DMB service has appeared in Japan since October 2004 DMB service operated by Japan Mobile Broadcasting Corporation (MBCo), a Japanese broadcasting company.
